The Teide National Park

This is the largest and oldest of the National Parks of the Canary Islands. The scenery makes it one of the most spectacular geological phenomena in the world, with its volcanoes and the lava creating a marvellous setting of forms and colours. Endowed with great biological wealth it contains an extraordinarily high percentage of endemic species of plants and an important range of invertebrate fauna of which 40 percent is endemic.
Mount Teide, reaching 3,718 m above sea level, is the highest peak of Spain and the third highest volcano in the world (measured from its base on the seafloor). It is currently dormant, having last erupted in 1909 from the subsidiary vent of Chinyero on the west slope of Teide. Other significant eruptions occurred in 1704–1706 and 1798. The summit has a number of small active fumaroles emitting hot sulfur dioxide and other gases.
On July 2nd 2007 after the UNESCO World Heritage Committee’s sessions held in Christchurch, New Zealand, the Teide National Park was declared a World Heritage site and included in its World Heritage List.

La Orotava

The town of La Orotava is one of the most traditional and historical municipalities of Tenerife. Its monuments and manor houses, extraordinary scenery, fiestas and traditions make La Orotava very attractive to tourists. It offers great sightseeing opportunities; from the mountains to the coast a beautiful, colourful and picturesque landscape delights the eye, with fantastic beaches of black volcanic sand in contrast to the lush greenness of its slopes.

Garachico

Garachico is situated on the north western coast of the island. One day in May 1706 life stopped there when the eruption of the Trebejo volcano buried the town. But it rose again from the ashes and welcomes us today in all its attractiveness, with the extraordinary architecture of its churches, convents and mansions, where spacious courtyards, unique façades and shady hallways  contribute to the particular charm of the buildings. A visit to Garachico would seem obligatory for any visitor to Tenerife.
